Renaissance Village

Renaissance Village is a 305-unit apartment project, built in 1948 in western Detroit on a 17-acre site. A new master plan eliminated or combined units into a new 185-unit community. All units were completely rebuilt from bare interior walls. The innovative plan included unique features such as a splash park, covered farmer’s market, urban garden area, fitness loop, gathering shelters and a new security fence. All this was done to spur a renaissance in this entire Detroit neighborhood.
