Cass Plaza
About this Project
- Location: Midtown Detroit
- Project Type: Historic Restoration
Cass Plaza Apartments, an Italian Renaissance-style multi-family apartment building constructed in 1924 in Detroit’s Midtown neighborhood was originally called Naomi Apartments. The Cass-Davenport District of Detroit has been on the National Historic Register since 1997. The building had apparently been vacant since shortly after the 1967 Detroit riots. The building was in dismal condition since the windows and gutter system had been stolen, allowing significant water damage to the interior and structure. Rohde’s historic restoration allows the building to better fit within the historic district.
